How To Install A Convertible Car Seat – Chicco NextFit Zip Review

First and foremost, thank you to Chicco for sending me their NextFit Zip convertible car seat. As always, all opinions are my own.

Of all the daunting tasks that come with being a new mom, I gotta say – installing a car seat is usually one of them. Installing Riley’s infant car seat (and the two bases we had – one for each car) was definitely a pain in the butt, and it 1000% required me to look for installation videos on YouTube.

So if your little one is like Riley – ready for her big girl car seat, then hopefully this post will help ya a bit. Today I’m showing you how to install a convertible car seat, and walking you through some of my favorite features of Chicco’s NextFit Zip Convertible Car Seat.

Check out the video below to see how we installed it start to finish.

Thank goodness for my husband because I typically don’t have the patience for stuff like this. I will say though, the instructions were super easy to read and self-explanatory, so if Joe HADN’T been around, I’m pretty sure I could have tackled this on my own. At least a good portion of it.

Tip: before taking the car seat outside and sticking it in your car, open up the box inside and start going through the instructions. You’ll likely have to adjust a few straps before installing the car seat, and it’s a lot easier to do when you have space.

Here’s what the Chicco NextFit Zip convertible car seat looked like inside my Jetta. Like I mentioned in the video, it’s super super comfortable, and the entire cover zips off for easy washing. Love that!

The car seat also has 9 different reclining positions so you can adjust it for your little one. There’s an easy guide on the top right – see that yellow leveling bar? You just have to make sure the bubble is within the arrows. Nice and easy.

For reference, Riley’s 13 months old, btw.

And one of the things I love the most about this car seat is that it’ll grow with her and be around for a long time (I believe it’s up to 65 lbs), so little babe better like it!

So yea, I think it’s safe to say that Riley and I are ready for plenty more mommy + me adventures! Thanks, Chicco for helping us with this new milestone!

Now how to entertain a toddler in the car? That’s a totally different story – LOL – If you have any suggestions, leave them down below in the comments!
